My Story

Matt Duggan, an accomplished writer based in Los Angeles, California, is known for his captivating storytelling and insightful exploration of the human condition. Graduating from Boston College with degrees in English and Communications, Matt embarked on a multifaceted creative journey that led him from filmmaking to literature.

Continuing his literary pursuits, Matt recently released the second installment of The Rosy Dream series, solidifying his reputation as a talented author with a unique voice. In Extremis is the second novel in the trilogy and takes readers on an immersive journey through the contrasting landscapes of 1990s and 2008 Los Angeles. Duggan’s works have been featured in esteemed publications such as The Menacing Hedge and The Literary Hatchet.

His foray into the literary world of storytelling began with the publication of his debut novel, Ostraca, in 2019, marking the inception of his compelling The Rosy Dream trilogy.

While Matt’s creative journey started in filmmaking, where he contributed to the production of critically-acclaimed short films and directed his feature film debut, Inverse, his passion for storytelling has found new expression in the realm of literature.

Man Vs Film

Man Vs. Film is the visionary content house founded by Matt Duggan. The name follows Matt’s first digital project Man Vs. that broke YouTube in its early days. Since then, Matt has created digital hits including Not Suitable for Work, written content for commercials including an ad campaign for Carl’s Jr. that was so good YouTube banned it, and wrote & directed the feature film Inverse
